Management Team
Born in 1961, in Hamamatsu Shizuoka.
Mabuchi majored in Mechanical Engineering and completed a graduate thesis on Automation.
However, his interests expanded beyond these fields, and Mabuchi also spent time in the economics department studying "Reaganomics" -- a U.S. economic policy which fascinated and inspired him.
After graduation, Mabuchi found work at a local sporting goods manufacturer in the product development division.
The strong yen influenced the creation of overseas factories, and he was involved in their creation and management.
Mabuchi then decided to take his talent for management and move to manage smaller companies.
In 1998, Mabuchi established the job placement site, HyperCreate.co.jp along with Naohisa Takezuka.
HyperCreate has now become a subsidiary of LIM.
Mabuchi currently handles accounting, personnel, financial and general affairs as well as overseas business projects for LIM.
Motto
Memento Mori
In Italian, Mori means "Death" and Memento is "to think". "Think of death" references how one should be cognizant of their mortality and live a honorable life without regret.
Hobbies and Activities
Surfing
Mabuchi first began surfing back in his school days and still has passion for the sea 30 years later. He owns nine different boards -- a mix of shortboards and longboards -- which he chooses from depending on the wave size or season. Every year, the surfing season begins in spring with his longboards and comes to a close shredding waves on his shortboards against the typhoons of autumn. When not atop a wave himself, Mabuchi also enjoy taking photographs of other surfers in action.
Reading
Mabuchi reads between 20 and 30 books each year.
Recently, he has been fascinated by stories about the life of Julius Caesar, ancient Greece and Mediterranean culture.
In particular, he enjoys the works of Nanami Shiono, who wrote Roma-jin no Monogatari, and other books tied to European history.
Mabuchi finds great value in the lessons of history and how they can be applied to one's personal philosophy, even in this day and age.
Cross-industrial Association
Mabuchi manages the Manager's Club Frontier, a cross-industrial association comprised of about 30 different companies.
The organization is a volunteer cooperative with ten years of history behind it.
As the representative organizer, Mabuchi believes strongly in the value of facilitating communication and cooperation between people of all skills and walk of life from different generations and industries.
